1.
This Invitation for Bids follows the General
Procurement Notice posted in the ADB Business
Opportunities on 15 May 2009.
2.
India has applied for a loan from the Asian
Development Bank (ADB) towards the cost of Jharkhand State
Roads Project. Part of the proceeds of this loan will be
used for payments under the contracts named above. Bidding
is open to bidders from eligible source countries of ADB.
3.
The Road Construction Department, Government of
Jharkhand (the Employer) now invites sealed bids from
eligible bidders for the construction and completion of
the following contract packages:

Bidders
may bid for one package or any combination of packages.
Separate Bidding Documents shall be required while bidding
for separate Contract Packages.
4.
International competitive bidding will be conducted
in accordance with ADB's Single Stage: Two-Envelope
Bidding Procedure.
5.
To obtain further information and inspect and
acquire the Bidding Document, eligible bidders should

To purchase the Bidding Documents, bidders should:
a)
visit the office of the Director, PIC at the
address indicated above and pay a non-refundable fee of Rs.
12,000 or US$ 300 for each package, payable by crossed
demand draft in favour of ADB
Project, RCD, Jharkhand, Ranchi payable at State Bank
of India, Hatia Branch,
Ranchi or any scheduled bank in Ranchi, Jharkhand,.
Or
b)
request for delivery of Bidding Documents per
Contract Package by sending a written application to the
office of the Director, PIC at the address indicated
above. The application must include a crossed demand draft
in favour of ADB
Project , RCD, Jharkhand, Ranchi payable State Bank of
India, Hatia Branch,
Ranchi or at any scheduled bank in Ranchi,
Jharkhand, for the amount of Rs.13,000 (domestic delivery)
or US$ 400 (overseas delivery) per package. No liability
will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

8.
A pre-bid meeting will be held at the Office of
Secretary, RCD on 13 November
2009 at IST 11.00 hrs
9.
Technical Bids will be opened immediately after the
in the presence of bidder's representatives who choose to
attend.
10.
In the comparison of Bids, Domestic Preference will
be not be applied.
