EOI

Expression of Interest for Private Sector Participation for Promotion of Technical Education in the State of Jharkhand (India).

1. The State of Jharkhand, with a population of 26.9 million stretching over 79,714 sq. km, is rich in mineral and natural resources. In view of the  rapidly expanding industrial activity, the Govt. of Jharkhand has decided to allow Private Sector Participation for opening of Technical Institutions (Engineering Colleges, Management and Professional Institutes, Polytechnic Institutes etc.) in the State, which will provide adequate opportunity for quality Technical Education in the State for promotion of Human Resources.

2. Accordingly, the State Government invites Expression of Interest (EOI) from registered Educational Trusts/Societies/Institutes who have minimum of five years' experience in the chosen field and/or have got affiliation/franchise from reputed Technical Institution in accordance with the provision/ norms rules of the AICTE/UGC for   establishing such Technical Institutions.

3. Such Technical Institutions can be taken up for establishment in any District of Jharkhand, However,  the Government is keen to establish Institutions in Districts, where such Institutions do not exist, Such Districts are Hazaribagh, Giridih, Deoghar, Pakur, Godda, Sahibganj, Lohardagga, West Singhbhum, Simdega, Garhwa, Chatra and   Jamtara.  Applicants will have to mention specifically the District where they wish to establish such Institution. Special incentives may be considered for those who wish to establish Institutions in Districts where Institutions do not exist at present.

4. The Incentives by the Government will be to provide Government land    on Salami rate basis by the Revenue Department.  As for private land,   fifty percent of the land price (Prevalent Registry Price to be determined by the Concerned Deputy Commissioner) will be borne by the  Government.  The other incentives will be initial provisions for Road, electricity and water.

5. Trusts/Society/Institute should provide write up of their experience in the field, their previous track record such as Institutional Grading, if any, placement record, faculty/infrastructure details etc. They should also provide a future plan for opening an Institution in Jharkhand State with specific details. Those who have already applied in response to EOI published by the Department earlier, will also be considered.
